ADVANCES IN APPLICATION AND MECHANICS OF INTELLIGENT COMPOSITE MATERIALS

Various kinds of intelligent composite material have widely been applied inengineering and technology. This paper reviews the basic concepts, main types and sensing andactuating mechanisms of intelligent materials and intelligent composite materials, focusing onart-of-state applications of intelligent composite materials. The multi-physics coupling behavior ofintelligent composite materials is emphasized in the present paper.
