THE PARAMETER TRANSFORMATION METHOD FOR ELASTIC CATENARY EQUATION AND ITS APPLICATION IN ENGINEERING

  • In this letter, the model of elastic catenary is established byintroducing a transformation parameter u (\rm sinh u=\d y/\d x), and the corresponding parametric equation is obtained. Thetension of the mooring line in ocean engineering can be calculated bythe model. The algorithm is simple and effective, and easy to program incomputer language.
