THE EQUIVALENT SHEAR MODULUS OF THE HONEYCOMB CORE

The light-duty honeycomb sandwich structures withhigh specific-strength and specific-stiffness are applied widely in thesatellite projects. The shear modulus is especially difficult to obtainaccurately. This paper focuses on the shear modulus analysis methodusing the finite element method based onthe thin plate theory. The results were found to agree better withexperiments than other methods.
