EFFECT OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF COMPOSITES POLE ON THE HEIGHT OF POLE VAULT

  • In this paper, finite element method (FEM) software isused to simulate the large deformation process of pole during the polevaulting. The deformation, jump heights and performance index are obtained from the calculations for poles made of different materials. The highest records are predicted for different materials'poles through the design of pole sections. Carbon fiber reinforcedcomposites poles with uniform and varying sections are designed for Bubkaas an standard, to let him to reach higher height.
