    Abstract: The advances of research on structuraldamage diagnosis is presented in this paper. Theapplication of artificial neural networks to str-uctural damage identification is discussed. Thestructural damage detection and some expert systemsbased on artificial neural networks are introduced.Tendencies of structural damage diagnosis are pointedout.
